API

Wovio REST API

For platforms that aren't WordPress. The engine decides, writes and measures as always; instead of publishing to a dashboard, it delivers every piece to you, signed, and you publish it in your stack.

How it Connects

A REST API for your servers, with keys that can't open the dashboard and a signed webhook for every piece.

  • API keys: Create them in your dashboard, read-only or read-and-write, with optional expiry. Every key belongs to a person and is revoked in one click.
  • Signed webhooks: Every change reaches your server with an HMAC-SHA256 signature: new articles, rewrites, titles and descriptions, internal links and llms.txt. If your server doesn't answer, delivery is retried for half a day and nothing is lost.

How it Works

You receive the piece ready for your database and tell us the URL where it went live. From there, we measure it.

  • Complete JSON: Title, suggested slug, excerpt, language, the search it answers, and the body in both Markdown and HTML.
  • Any language: Works with your backend in Node.js, Python, Go or PHP. The reference includes signature-verification examples in Node.js and Python.

Key Points & FAQ

What is the rate limit for the API?

100 requests per minute and 20,000 per day, per key. Go over and you get a 429 with Retry-After.

How do I know how much I've used?

Every response carries headers with your remaining requests and this month's AI usage: what percentage of your plan you've used and how much is left. GET /usage gives the detail, and so does your dashboard. The API is included while your subscription is active.

Can I get content in Markdown instead of HTML?

Yes. Every delivery carries both, and fetching with format=markdown or format=html returns only the one you need: ideal for Next.js, Hugo or Gatsby.

Do you provide SDKs?

Not yet. The full reference lives inside your dashboard, generated from the API contract itself, with Node.js and Python examples for verifying webhook signatures.

Is the documentation public?

No. The API only accepts customer keys, and its reference is available with your account, in the dashboard.
