The plugin
Download the plugin and install it on your WordPress
It's a zip file. Upload it from your WordPress dashboard, no keys to paste: linking to Wovio is a single button.
- 1Download the zip with the button.
- 2In your WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Pick the zip, install and activate.
- 3Open your Wovio dashboard, go to Connect, and click Connect WordPress.
Free software under the GPL. It reads your pages and fixes titles and descriptions; articles are published by the connector using the application password you generate. It never administers your server, and you can revoke it from WordPress in one click.
How it Connects
Connect your site exactly how you prefer. We offer two seamless methods depending on your technical comfort.
- 1-Click Plugin: Download the official Wovio plugin. Click 'Connect' and you're connected. Perfect for non-technical teams.
- Native REST API: Don't want another plugin? Generate a secure Application Password directly in WP Admin. Zero plugin bloat.
How it Works
Once connected, Wovio works directly with your WordPress site — finding opportunities, fixing SEO issues, creating content, building internal links and publishing according to the mode you choose.
- Autopilot: Routine, low-risk work can publish automatically after passing quality checks.
- Approval mode: Important changes wait for your approval before touching your site.
- In both modes: quality gates, evidence, one-click rollback, and a visible schedule.
- Native Formatting: Generates beautiful Gutenberg-ready blocks (H2s, H3s, Lists, Tables).
- SEO Plugin Ready: Automatically populates Meta Titles and Descriptions for Yoast or RankMath.
Key Points & FAQ
Does Wovio publish automatically or save as drafts?
It depends on the mode. On autopilot, the article shows up in Approvals with its evidence, waits a day, and if you don't discard it, publishes to your WordPress. In approval mode, nothing publishes without your sign-off. Sensitive changes —rewriting a page that already has visibility, or a sitewide change— wait for your approval in both modes.
Can it handle custom post types?
Not yet. Today it writes articles as standard WordPress posts and fixes titles and descriptions on posts and pages. Custom Post Types are on the list, not in the product.
What about featured images?
Wovio sets them. It picks a royalty-free stock photo based on the article's topic, uploads it to your media library with alt text and the photographer's credit, and assigns it as the featured image. If the stock library doesn't answer, the article still publishes and the evidence says why it went out without a photo. Wovio does not generate images with AI.
